The "Amazon Recommendations" badge (formerly "Amazon's Choice")Have you ever seen it?

This is one of the ways Amazon recommends products to users.

In this post, I’ll explain in detail what “Amazon Recommendations” (formerly “Amazon’s Choice”) is all about!

Amazon Recommendations (formerly Amazon’s Choice)What is it?

Overview of Amazon Recommendations (formerly Amazon’s Choice)

"Amazon Recommendations" (formerly "Amazon's Choice") is,
This refers to Amazon's proprietary system for recommending products.

*Note: This has now been changed to "Amazon Recommendations."

The product is marked with a label like the one shown in the image below.

Because Amazon has such a large selection of products, the ”Amazon’s Picks” badge
Products with this feature are more likely to catch users' attention.

“The criteria for the ”Recommended by Amazon” label are listed on the product page.
It is stated as follows.

””Amazon Recommendations’ features products with high ratings and affordable prices."

Clear numerical criteria areThis information has not been disclosed.
Increasing the number of positive reviews at a price that is ”affordable” for users is
“This is the quickest way to get the ”Amazon’s Picks” badge.

By the way, when purchasing items using the Amazon "Echo" device,
Products with voice guidance are those marked as "Amazon's Picks."

The Background Behind the Introduction of Amazon Recommendations (formerly Amazon’s Choice)

Amazon has introduced this "Amazon Recommendations" (formerly "Amazon's Choice") badge
There are a few reasons why I started this.

One is Amazon'sThere are many items listed,
It's because users have trouble deciding which products to buy.
It is said that Amazon now has hundreds of millions of listings, and
It's becoming harder to choose and buy from among similar products.

In addition, recently there has been a trend toward
It is true that trust is waning.

It is said that reviews on Amazon and other sites are not purely objective, and
More and more people are hesitant to make purchases based on reviews.

Based on these reasons, Amazon itself recommends products
“Amazon Recommendations” has been introduced.

"Amazon Recommendations" (formerly "Amazon's Choice") appears next to search keywords

Depending on the search keywords
“The products labeled ”Recommended by Amazon” will change.

Generally, for each search keyword,
“There is only one ”Amazon’s Choice” badgeThat's it.
However, sometimes there is no mark.

Focus on big keywords rather than small ones
“Items marked with the ”Amazon’s Choice” badge
It is highly likely that the number of sessions will increase.

You can't mark it intentionally, but
Depending on the search keywords, ”Amazon Recommendations” will
Keep in mind that the products you make will also change.

What's the difference between "Best Sellers" and sponsored ads?

There are two other types of labels that appear on products.
"Best Sellers" and "Sponsored Ads."

I'll explain each one in turn.

Bestseller

When I'm browsing products, it's not just ”Amazon Recommendations” but also
They have a "Best Seller" label like the one shown below
That happens sometimes.

This is another way Amazon recommends products to users.

The bestsellers in each genre are
A mark displayed on the #1 best-selling item for a certain period of time.

Attached to best-selling productsfor
Return rates and customer reviews are not taken into account
It is believed that the number of units sold is a factor.

“Since ratings are also important for ”Amazon Recommendations,”
I suppose that’s the difference.

Also, just like ”Amazon Recommendations,”
Not the symbol that appears next to search keywords, but
It appears as a mark next to the ASINFor each search keyword,
Sometimes, a book may have multiple "Best Seller" labels.

Example: If you search for "contact lenses,"
Two products marked as bestsellers will appear.
(Subcategory: Contact Lens Cases and Soft Contact Lenses)

Sponsored Ads

When searching for products on Amazon, as shown in the image below,
Products marked with the "Sponsored Product" label
Don't you sometimes see that?

This is called a Sponsored Products ad,
Ads on AmazonThat's what it means.

It's not that Amazon is displaying it, but rather
These are listings where the seller displays products they personally recommend.
The fact that the seller is adjusting the bid amount and other details
“You could say this is different from ”Amazon Recommendations.”

“Just because it has the ”Amazon’s Choice” badge
Of course, it catches the user's eye, but
“Products that do not have the ”Amazon’s Choice” badge
It's not that it's inferior to other products.

“It is said that ”Amazon Recommendations” are determined by AI, and
The criteria are unclearThat's it.
”Since it meets the criteria, it gets the ”Amazon's Choice' badge!"
That's not to say...
